Since even the most advanced cruise missiles available top out at a range of 3,000 km (http://www.fas.org/nuke/intro/cm/index.html), wouldn't it have been much less injurious to the sensibilities of Arabs everywhere to just allow this flying agent of evil to run out of fuel and fall harmlessly into the desert?

The lack of oversight from the GOP-controlled Congress has come back to bite both the President and the Republican Party on the rump. Rather than the intended hope that they were allowing Bush to assume the tools needed to fight terrorism, it now appears that what they gave him instead was enough rope to hang himself.
And if the Bush admin gave this up without a fight, what is it that they are going to fight to keep?

D'SOUZA AND THE ILLIBERALITY OF CRITICISM
With the announcement today of the demise of Regan Books, one has to wonder what the future holds for conservative letters. Will it be more of the kinds of sensationalism we have seen from the Coulters and D'Souzas, or will we finally get conservative bestsellers that actually deal with serious ideas and positive solutions?
